When a tool breaks or a holder does not release cleanly, the scanner signals the BKM98 Light / BKM96 control unit, which stops the machine instantly: no crash into the workpiece, no broken tools pulled through the tool magazine. The TK98A is the current-generation scanner used on machining centres and CNC lathes, stationary as well as rotating tools.
