The LLS 875/01 (LICHTBAND = light band) is the linear light source of the EMG strip-edge and strip-center guiding system: LLS stands for Linear Light Source and 875 for the active light-band length in mm. Paired with an EVK or EVM optical receiver it forms a through-beam sensor that detects the edge position of opaque strip material - steel, aluminium, copper, paper, film, nonwovens - for closed-loop centering on rolling, coating, galvanizing and converting lines. The integrated LED array is pulsed at 2000 Hz to suppress ambient light, and a built-in photosensor closes the control loop so voltage fluctuation, temperature drift and LED ageing never change the emitted intensity; if the light leaves its controlled range, a fault signal is output to the guiding controller. The LED board sits in an extractable carriage for fast maintenance, and the rugged M12 industrial plug allows quick replacement.
