The BIM-M12E-AG4X is a magnetic-inductive proximity switch: it detects permanent magnets through non-ferromagnetic walls such as aluminium, stainless steel, plastic or brass, which makes it the classic end-of-stroke position sensor for pneumatic cylinders (cylinder sensor) and for hidden-position checks where mechanical switches cannot survive. With the DMR31-15-5 actuation magnet it reaches a 90 mm operating distance - far beyond what a plain reed or Hall sensor offers in the same M12 barrel format. The polarized 2-wire DC output (10...65 VDC, NO) wires straight into standard PLC inputs.
